About
The Daily Monthly offers thorough, engaging analysis and discussion of ideas and issues that are important to all of us. Each month I select one topic, and devote all my blogging resources to exploring and unraveling the many dimensions of that topic. For example, the first month, February 2010, covers AIDS in America. You’ll find not only stories about the science behind the disease and the search for the cure, but personal portraits of people treating and living with HIV and AIDS.
This site arose out of an idea that a blog could cover more than a single topic while still exploring issues in depth. There are many blogs with broad-ranging interests, but generally these blogs aren’t able to give more than cursory treatment to larger issues. There are blogs that thoroughly cover an subject area, but they often cater to people who are similarly immersed in that subject. The Daily Monthly is for anyone with an open mind who’d like to know more about the world around them.
